Why Now
The cheapest time to get it right is before framing
A rebuild is a rare clean slate. Every wire, conduit run and equipment location can be planned before a single stud goes up. Once drywall closes, every change means opening walls, patching and repainting.
We've worked with families rebuilding after the Palisades fires, and the pattern is the same: the projects that go smoothest are the ones where we're at the table with the architect and the builder during design.
Decide before framing
Where the equipment lives
Every system needs a home: a ventilated equipment room or closet with power, cooling and a clean path to every floor. If it isn't on the plans, it ends up in a coat closet.
The lighting plan
Lutron keypads, shades and fixture locations shape the electrical plan. Decide them with the architect and the lighting designer, not after the electrician has roughed in.
Which rooms get what
Theater, media room, outdoor audio, TVs above fireplaces, motorized shades. Each one changes blocking, conduit and power. A rough list now saves walls later.
How the house stays connected
Wired access points, camera locations and a cellular backup for the internet, planned so the house can still report back when the neighborhood's service is down.
Built for the Next Emergency
More time, more information
Technology doesn't replace fire-resistant construction. It tells you sooner and keeps you informed when you can't be there.
Early warning
Monitored smoke, heat and water sensors that alert your phone, not just the hallway.
Cellular failover
When the cable or fiber line goes down, cameras, alarms and controls keep reporting over cellular.
Backup power planning
We put the network, cameras and controls on circuits your backup power can carry, so the house stays visible during an outage.
Cameras you can check from anywhere
Exterior coverage you can pull up from an evacuation shelter or a hotel room two hours away.
How It Works
From plans to move-in
Design
We meet with you, your architect and your builder while the plans are still moving. We deliver a technology scope and drawings the team can build from.
Pre-Wire
After framing, before insulation and drywall. Wire, conduit, backing and equipment locations go in once, coordinated with the electrician and the other trades.
Trim & Commissioning
Keypads, speakers, TVs, cameras and the network go in. We program the house around how your family actually lives.
Move-In & Support
We walk you through the house, then stay on call. The same team that built it supports it.

Common Questions
Rebuild questions
When should we bring in a smart home integrator on a fire rebuild?
During design, before the plans go to permit. That's when equipment rooms, conduit paths and the lighting plan can be drawn in for free. The latest we can still do it cleanly is after framing and before insulation and drywall (the pre-wire).
Do you work on rebuilds in Pacific Palisades and Malibu?
Yes. We work with families, architects and builders rebuilding in Pacific Palisades, Malibu and the surrounding canyons, and we coordinate directly with your architect and general contractor from the first set of drawings.
We had a smart home before the fire. Can you match what we had?
Usually we can do better. Bring whatever you have (old invoices, photos, a list of what you liked and didn't), and we'll scope a system around how you actually lived in the house, with Control4, Savant and Lutron.
What can technology do to make a rebuilt home more resilient?
It can tell you sooner and keep you informed longer: monitored smoke and heat sensors, cameras you can check remotely, a cellular backup when local internet is down, and the network and controls wired to circuits your backup power can carry. It doesn't replace fire-resistant construction. It adds time and information.
Our architect already has a low-voltage plan. Do you still need to be involved?
We're happy to build from it. We'll review it with the architect, flag anything that will be hard to install or support later, and turn it into a pre-wire the electrician and framer can work around.
